Tim Carter graduated from Chelsea College of Art & Design in 1992, where he studied Public Art, specialising in Architectural Glass & Stained Glass.
He has been based in Leicestershire for the last 15 years and has continued to work with glass and other materials such as steel, stainless steel, other non-ferrous metals, wood, acrylic and slate.
Tim designs, manufactures, restores and installs traditional & contemporary stained glass and leaded-light windows & also designs & produces a range of decorative & functional glass wall-pieces, mirrors, lighting & sculptures - for a variety of domestic and commercial situations.
Techniques & processes used include, fired painting & staining, fusing, slumping, acid etching, sandblasting & sand-carving, acid polishing, glass drilling, linishing, UV bonding, fabrication, forging, welding, cutting, milling, lathe turning.
His customers include Rockingham Castle – where he restores leaded-light and metal casement windows and Rolls-Royce (Aerospace) PLC – where he has designed & manufactured a variety of presentation awards for their UK and international projects.
He has worked on numerous other commissions throughout Rutland, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
